Help and advice! Front top mount fabia 2013 vrs

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

So the front spring on my Skoda fabia vrs 2013 went bang last week, had both changed at the local garage. Now when I turn at slow speeds I can hear a rubbing noise, like rubber on rubber. I called the garage and he said he changed the springs and top mounts (Monroe brand) but obviously it’s not the right fit.

Can anyone point me in the right direction/ post a link for the correct parts I need? Ideally I would like the whole kit with bearings as I’ve seen some online that don’t have them included.

Cheers!

I normally go to lll parts and look up the manufacturers diagrams for oe part numbers then when ordering aftermarket and check any cross ref. From memory the top mounts have a specific direction/fitting position. Wonder if there fitted wrong which may be causing the noise. You could see if the garage can give you the part numbers that they fitted and check on Monroe site if they match

Cheers mate I’ll do that. Do you think they used the old bearings?

My sons MK1 top mount includes new bearings so I assume they would be new. As said on my sons mk1 and my octavia mk2 there is an arrow on the original to show direction. On the KYB ones I got there was no arrow but I compared with the old one. I had a look on monroe cat but couldnt find struts for the VRS so maybe they fitted standard ones for a MK2 and monroe dont do VRS?

@Carlston might see this and comment. vRS Standard 'Sport' springs were stupid expensive a few years back, or there were the cheaper to buy 'option springs' (Dealer fitted Eibach. There were Monroes for the Twinchargers. 'SE3387' Front.

Shock absorber bearing: OEM p/n 6R0 412 249 (I suggest you to look for lemforder or meyle)

Upper rubber bushing: OEM p/n 1J0 412 331 C or 1J0 412 331 B (no difference btween the two)

Whole meyle kit: 100 412 2019/S (bearing bushing and bolts)

For info I've used a fabia combi vrs vin but is all the same btween vrs non vrs hatch and combi

Rear vRS Mk2 Fabia estate is where they are different, it is. 9 3/4" longer and not really just 5 kG heavier. Rear does not squat under acceleration and lose traction at the front. But then then the hatch need not so much when you remove the 'Success Ballast' off the rear crash bar. What allows the Estate and Sister cars from VW, Seat & Audi that are really heavier and not quicker 0-60, or 70 or 80 mph to get the VW Kidology figures..
