navigation database update for 2025 Sportsline

Featured Replies

2025 August sportsline. My system information tells me my software is Ver. 23.6, on the skoda download portal with my VIN, it gives the latest as 26.2. This to be downloaded to an SD card. In the Skoda online manual it refers to automatic download and/or manual download. However my 2026 does not have an SD slot, only two USB-C slots. Does this mean that the later models only do it over the air? The system infomation screen does have a "download now" option but I have seen on this site that this would then request an SD card inserting. Anyone done a navigation database update on a late model Karoq?

In the first 6 months of my car I have had two software glitches causing a fail to start, with every possible error message scrolling though , rectified by locking the car and leaving it, Sokda dealer finding no faults only a "glitch"! I know that this would not be the navigation software, it would be the "cars" software, but it does make me very warey.

Karoqs have had automatic map updates via its Internet connection of years - as long as you have subscribed to the Skoda Connect service. However mine seems to have stuck on the August 2024 issue regardless of having the paid subscriptions!

You can download the updated maps from the Skoda website, and store them on a USB-C Flash drive, then plug that into one of the USB-C sockets by the gear lever. Leave it in as you drive around, and that should then update your maps. I'm not sure if you have to be driving in an area where the maps have been updated though, as mine seem reluctant to show an updated date on the system information page and it could be I haven't driven far enough to trigger it yet.

Oh, I am vagually aware of Skoda connect but nothing was said about it when I bought the car. I will have to look into it. Is this the thing that is free for the first 3 years then have to pay for it? And how much?

The glitches that I had from new put me off pairing my phone to the car.

@Chris49 Skoda Connect is free for the first 36 months from the date you register for Skoda Connect, it’s not linked to the purchase date. The cost of each subscription was £36 a year, I pay for both services. I like the sat nav and find the realtime routing very accurate and responsive. As of March 2026 the map database was 25.12. Your 36 months free period gives you time to decide whether you like/need the Connect functions. If you are having phone pairing issues check you are using Bluetooth rather than the MySkkda9345 WiFi hotspot.

Each subscription? There are two? Is the satnav separate from the connect subscrption? My phone pairs with the car on blutooth fine as I use it for Google maps which at the moment I use for navigation as I am familiar with it.

Yes Remote Services is the lock/unlock, honk & flash, driving data, theft alarm, parking position stuff. Infotainment online is map updates, online route calculation, online traffic etc. I use both features - I prefer the built in sat nav so don’t bother with CarPlay. Map version 26.02 downloaded recently, I have Software 0330 and hardware H25 - yours may be different as my Sportline is a 2023 model.
