Rear Traffic Alert / Blind Spot Monitor currently unavail message since Cambelt change.

Featured Replies

I keep getting the above message when reverse is engaged and it has popped up a couple of times whilst driving today. My car has the factory fit tow bar so I am used to re- activating it after towing.

I did have a door lock module changed at Skoda a couple of weeks ago but it seems to have started since I had the cam belt and water pump changed at the local VAG specialist on Monday. Could it be related to that?

What say the Error Log?

Clear all fault codes and should be fine. Had same problem after battery change

I have not seen the error log/fault codes. I will have to get a garage to clear them and take it from there.

It would probably be cheaper to get yourself a decent app and obd reader and clear them yourself. Also has the benefit of being able to look at things in future and do coding.

Thanks, would one of the cheap amazon/Europarts code readers be enough to clear the fault codes?

Yes. I’m set up using CarScanner app on my phone and an obd adaptor from Amazon. £30 all in including the pro version of the app. It allows you to do most of the coding that vcds can do too.

Just to follow up, took the car to the garage because they needed to replace some trim they broke. Standard response " not us, must be a new fault with the radar but we don't have time to the fault today"

Ordered the above tool, cleared the fault codes and it's been working perfectly for 2 days so fingers crossed.

It's not faulty radar, just stored errors from prevoius work. Enjoy your ride.
