Advice please...Aircon issues...?!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, man it's hot and my Aircon isn't working 😅

I've just plugged it in to vcds and I have the following pictures of the readouts.

Clutch seems to be engaging and spinning, would it be a simple regas or do these codes suggest something else to you?

Appreciate your thoughts!

Probably just refrigerant shortage, but that may be the result of a leak. A good refill place should find a leak if there is one, and cannot refill it if they know it is leaking.

It seems to be showing the compressor isn't spinning but I have. Vague recollection we had similar on our mkii at one point. We cleared the fault codes and regassed it making sure there was some oil too. It then showed the compressor speed ok but still wasn't working. The next day it started working again...

Thanks guys, appreciate that, I think I'll book it in for them to inspect it and maybe regas if needed. Thanks for your help!

I read that if the pressure drops too low it disables AC compressor. It could be needing a recharge but it could also be a faulty pressure sensor. If the recharge doesn't work then I would look at replacing sensor although not sure if you can replace sensor without another recharge. Also check any relevant fuses for AC first.

Thanks, I've checked both fuses in the dash....none in the engine bay is there?

Appreciate your feedback ☺️

Not sure but think there may be one in engine bay fuse box thats for compressor as well as perhaps a relay but worth checking them anyway as they may have blown if the compressor is working harder. Chances are the AC has shut down due to low pressure in system.

Great, thanks I'll take a look there too 👍👍
