Upgrade rear bumper

Featured Replies

I have a '52 Octy Estate (L&K) and would like to know if it's possible to replace the rear bumper with one with the proximety sensors in it.

I auume the bumper will actually fit and I guess the wiring loom is already in place (somewhere) but will the car recognise it fi fitted?

Would I have to go into VAG COM to tell the car it's fitted, if so where?

I do have VAG COM and the correct cable (run diag and enabled anti hijack)

Has anyone done this?

Haven't looked into the cost of a bumper yet but I'm not in a rush so can wait until a scrapper turns up!

Is it an easy/ ok/ difficult job?

Anybody have and ideas!

:)

Why not just fit aftermarket reversing sensors?, had mine done, looks and works well, I had the sensors located in the rubbing strip, but you could have them fitted below it as per the factory fit, cost was about £155 fitted, easy diy job for @£75.

No wiring will be in place as standard.

Have a look at the inside of a bumper, around where the sensors are fitted; you might well find recesses so that it's easier to cutout for the factory fit.

thanks guys, i'll take a closer look at the car for mounting points and do a search for after market efforts.

Any one have any recommended links?

Is it easy to wire the cables through the car for the tone to be heard?

Need to look into this as the wife has just passed her drivnig test

The gen kit comes with full instructions and is easy to fit.
