Octavia 2.0 tdi recall

Featured Replies

Hi,

I bought a 2016 Skoda Octavia vRS 2.0 TDI (EA288 CUNA) about a month ago. It has 260,000 km on the clock, which is quite a lot, but the car has been properly serviced.

Before buying it, I had a full pre-purchase inspection done and no issues were found. I also recently passed an MOT without any problems.

Last week I went to a Skoda dealership to activate SmartLink, and they informed me that my car is eligible for a software recall/update.

They said it includes an engine ECU update and, if necessary, a DSG software update. From what I have found online, it seems to be the 23AX update.

I have done some research, but I'm still not sure if I should have it done. At the moment, the car drives very well and I haven't noticed any issues.

In the future, I am also planning to have the car remapped, which is another reason why I'm unsure whether this update is worth doing.

Would you recommend having the 23AX update done, or would you leave the car as it is if everything is working properly?

Any experiences or advice would be appreciated.
