UK and EU part numbers

Featured Replies

Hi,

I hit a deer and now need a left side headlight (part no 5E8941015). I have been let down twice by car breakers in the UK who advertise the item on eBay, but then don't have it. I have found the part I need, with this part number, but it is in the Netherlands. Am I safe buying this, or are parts for left hand drive cars different, even though the number is the same?

Are you sure there isn't a letter at the end of the part number?

A lot of VAG part numbers have a suffix which denotes a revision or left and right hand drive

The third character of the part number tends to be different on parts that have distinct LHD and RHD versions.

Double-check for match of that third character.

Thank you. The photo of the sticker on their part is identical in every way to mine. I have seen other units for LHD cars where the number is different. I have messaged the seller to clarify, but I guess it could be from a UK car that was crashed over there
