Enyaq 60 vs others

Featured Replies

I drive around 500 miles per week, commuting to work and back home. I currently have a Skoda Karoq 4x4 2.0 tdi - manual and I'm looking at multiple Skoda Enyaq models. I want to buy one but I cannot decide what capacity the battery should have and what will be better for me. For 71 miles daily and with me charging the car at home over night, I really don't know especially as the car will be second-hand. With me doing 26.000 miles per year, I'm intending to keep the car for a minimum of 3 years, although saying that and looking at my previous history, I usually change cars every 2 years.

I'm also looking at two other brands, and at least 1 of them is way off out my budget.

In terms of distances the only way I will do more that my daily is when I'm in holiday or visiting friends where the furthest ones live 200 miles away from me.

My budget is 12-14 k for a car from 2022/2023 with maximum 50 k miles and I can go maximum to 23 k, albeit it will stretch me massively.

My 2021 iV80 was £16500 with 49,000 miles. With your predicted mileage and charging pattern it looks like a 60 would fulfill your needs coupled with Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, or similar.

My 80 has a range at max charge of 300 mies, which I've only needed twice, going from the Peak District to Rochester in Kent.

go by your bladder range - how far can you drive without stopping? I say bladder but it might also be fatigue or hunger. If you look at my you tube channel www.youtube.com/@enyaq_gorm you will see older videos where I tested my enyaq 60, I have also tested the Elroq 60. Now I have an 85 after 3 hours driving from Edinburgh to Lancaster the battery usually goes from 90 to 40% and I need to stop - the car can go further but that 3 hour point is about my limit as a driver. Buy a car that will go for 3 hours and then you can charge
