I am about to have an oil and filter change on my Kodiaq 2.0 diesel at an independent garage, which I am allowed to do without voiding the warranty as long as they use OEM parts. Can someone tell me which OEM filters are used by Skoda?

I reckon you will have to get VW/Skoda parts either from dealer or from https://www.skoda-parts.com/ or similar to preserve waranty. They normally have to be genuine Skoda and not aftermarket oem. Mechanic friend had a Kia and they allowed him to service it himself but had to get all service parts from Kia to keep waranty valid.

That’s not what Skoda say. They state OEM or Skoda approved parts. That’s because, as far as oil filters are concerned, they can’t say use a Skoda oil filter because we all know Skoda don’t make oil filters.

To be sure maybe ask skoda what brand they will be ok with. Pretty sure its Mann rebranded with skoda part number but worth asking

Years ago I was ordering filters for a pair of MTUs. Got told to buy Fleetguard. Then got a lecture from MTU about possible rejection of Warranty claims. We agreed to get MANN+Hummel. Filter supplier gave me the lecture about MTU not making filters, they were all made in the same place and given different labels. However, to ensure warranty was valid it had to be MTU or M+H.

According to Skoda, Mann filters are approved.

If according to skoda Mann are approved go with them.

In RO, the oil is Castrol Long Life 0W20, code GOIS65577M2EUR VAG Original Ol LL IV FE, while the filter is indeed Mann made, code 06L 115 562 B MANN-FILTER, 3RG

I have the same from 3 different dealers, so it should be accurate.

I'd just buy a genuine VW Group oil filter while the car is still within warranty, doing that must save/avoid a lot of messing about if anything associated with the engine does need warranty work.

Okay the factory fitted filters tend to be Mahle with VW Group re-branding, and the service parts tend to be Mann with VW Group re-branding - but typically there is not much savings to be made between genuine VW Group and Mann if you buy with care.

This campaign includes all cars that are still under factory guarantee-mine is 11 months old...so, since I don't pay something more, it is important to continue my habits, and give myself, peace of mind, even if it is only about oil and filters...
