Oh noes! :(I have done then up super tight though :D

I'd love catch one of the little blighters in the act

Might have to lay th "smack down";)

How often do you check your tyre pressure, I give it four weeks before they have corroded on to the point that you cant actually get them off anyhow and have to get them removed, maybe some new valves.

Mine lasted three days!!! They came with a locking allen key. So much for that. Your best reserving them for Briskoda meets and sticking to the black plastic ones the rest of the time

So they corrod? As in rust?

Such a shame - they look so good! :(

I cheak my pressures every week btw.

I bought some similar ones, and whilst the local scrotes didnt steal the (i dont think they wanted skoda valve caps on their nova's etc...), The skoda badge stickers have fallen off :-(

:( Think I better get another set

if they're made of aluminium they will corrode , a smear of vaseline might stop it though but then they will be easier to nick

i like them, my friend has them on her octy - they maneged to survive the wonderwheels treatment after 6months so i think there pretty robust!

You should have just given the local kids the

I'm affraid I have to agree with the majority here, there have been three recent threads where 'little darlings' have walked away with dust caps. Mine were nicked just as soon as the kids broke up for the summer holidays but they had been on the car for three months!.

My suggestion if you want to keep 'em is to solder them on then fix a video camera up and enjoy ;) :P

I bought a set of Skoda dust caps, which were the same as thirdtimeluck's, and a rather nice key ring in Bulgaria last summer and the dust caps were on my Octavia until I part-exchanged it for my Superb in May this year and I swapped them over.

They disappeared last week when I parked in the main car park in Abergavenny for the day. I park there about once a week when I work in the town and they stayed on my Octavia for nearly a year!

I had no problems with corrosion or seizing on the valves. Must try and find another set somewhere!

I had Ford ones on my Capri , I had to take them off with a pair of pliers after a few months of not checking my pressures as they had seized on , also one of the Ford badges had fallen off , so I threw them away and put black plastic ones back on!

I had the same set as the OP did, also from ebay. When I went to check my tyre pressures one day couldn't get the things off, the whole valve stem was turning, ended up at the local tyre fitters and getting them to remove and replace the valves cause they were seized solid. The tyre place told me they get an average of one car a week in with the same problem.

Since then I haven't bothered, which is a shame in a way as they do look good.

I was told by a tyre fitter that they sieze on- My Fabia had them when I bought it. I suppose you could copperslip them?

PS , thats a good looking Fabia BTW , caps or no caps!

Mine got stolen after 2 days I was made up with the caps too. Don't have any on now not even black plastic ones

They look really good:thumbup:

However they reminded me of that film "Gone in 60 seconds" (at least where i live and work):)

I bought the same ones from the Bay.

After about 2 months of checking my tyre pressure I went to do it and I could not remove 1 of them, they had all bounded on the valve.

Had to go the tyre place the following day and have them removed, 2 of which valves had to be replaced, because of the damage they had caused.

Aluminium and copper cause Galvanic corrosion.

**Sorry if this was mentioned in above posts**

Same here cost me three new valves - stick to the black plastic ones no-one will pinch them, and they'll keep dust out.

Ordered some with the logo in black today :P
