does anyone know if the standard imobiliser on 03 vrs is activated along with the alarm via the keyfob or is it seperately operated with the 'plug in' device only

i ask only as my insurance company has pointed out if its stolen without imobiliser on my insurance is void.

It works on they key, it has a built in transponder.

A standard Octavia vRS doesnt have an alarm.

ahhhh yes sorry mine does. they added it as an incentive to buy along with immobiliser...... am i right in thinking the imobilisers activate after a time period after key removed from ignition?

No time delay, its as soon as the key is removed from the ignition. If the key is in the ignition, no matter how long its left the car will still start.
