Mpg????

Featured Replies

Hi all, had my 2016 Fabia 1.2tsi a couple of months now and it's killing me on fuel, I'm getting 35 mpg average but to be honest most of it is shortish journeys, is this about right???? thanks

Fuel economy is highly sensitive to driving style - my 1.4TSI Octavia shows a long-term average of about 42mpg, including a lot of short trips; SWMBOs 1.0TSI Fabia easily gets high 40s, also on short trips.

I'd consider 35mpg average to very low - how short are most of your trips - does the engine usually get up to full temperature?

A lot of short trips just picking up grandkids and then dropping them of later probably a lot of 4 mile roundtrips but it does get a few long runs out and about, I was spoiled with my old ford diesel doing 60 to the gallon I suppose.

2016 1.2 TSI at 99K miles. Last tank 62.6 MPG

Struggle to get below 50 MPG in the winter.

I do do no town driving / short journeys though.

Thanks. AG Falco

Do you actually calculate your fuel consumption - or do you use the fuel computer figures?

I use an app to calculate actual fuel use and it always shows the Octavia's fuel computer MPG figures to read high by at least 2mpg - so your real mpg figure could actually be lower than you think.
