Fitted my ABD TIP at the weekend

Featured Replies

Not sure what difference it's made as I didn't get a chance to go for a proper drive.

But it was a biatch to fit! I have no skin on my knuckles and I ache all over from getting under the car and back out so many times.

Everything was pretty straightforward apart from getting the end over the turbo - that took me ages to get on properly on my own! I ended up wedging it at an angle with a bit of wood so it stayed on the turbo while I tightened up the clip from underneath.

I made a grooved wooden block to put my trolley jack under, then had to use the standard jack to lift the car an inch to get the trolley jack under the sill! That standard jack looks lethal - glad my garage floor is nice and level!

I can't get the engine cover on now :( and the DV rattles on the strut brace (sorted the rattle using sticky foam pads!!)

Not decided yet whether to cut the engine cover or leave it out.

This could be an excuse to buy a Dremel :D

Edit: Forgot to say, I bought it from Awesome and delivery (to NZ) was very quick, and I even got a nice note from Sarah

Hi Rob

Pop over to see us and we can have a look at it for you ;)

It is an APR one too

But as for the note , had to say "Hello"

Oooops, temporary brain failure!

I've corrected the title :)

Still struggling to stop the rattle - sticky pads disintegrated. Might need to loosen the ends and twist it a bit :)

Also my boost gauge reads higher now - not higher boost I don't think - it doesn't read as vacuum when driving along like it used to - does this mean something is wrong?

Drives well - lots of go and I just span the wheels in second :D

Bugger - can't edit it now :(
