Since other thread went way off track...

The freedom word will now not appear to freedom members....if it does let me know.

It does :)

do'h it did for you...should not now; if anybody wants to ratify this; that's not red ;)

So we have come to cash this check -- a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.

This sweltering summer of the *****'s legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality.

Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.

Fraid it ain't made no difference to me?.

In my case the first two do and the third one doesn't.

Ok it maybe tied up in the cache for this set of queries.

Handily I bypass these, I'll look in later to confirm.

I can still see Freedom in your initial thread and the top two that Nick posted.

Edit - Still shows in my post for me too.

Showing for me as well I'm afraid. I've not used this computer to view this thread until now but I doubt that info will be too much use.

Just to keep you posted.. still showing :)

Freedom........still blue

In my case the first two do and the third one doesn't.

Ditto but it was ok this afternoon.

I don't have freedom (sorry guys) and I can see links on the top two but not on the bottom one (of what nick posted)

They might take our whatever, but they will never take our freedom, or something.

Likewise :D

Right it's an issue in the code, the check box that says don't show to these groups obviously isn't doing what it claims...I'll rectify.

And I have paid my

I guess it only ever shows 2 per post.

freedom freedom freedom freedom freedom freedom freedom freedom freedom freedom

So he is right! Well done Nick - you have won a donut.

Ok, quick update, in your user cp Link above.

Navigate to edit options > thread display options >

The item :

Turn Link Words Off

Allows you to turn off keyword linking for some categories.

On Off

Set that to off.

Note his only applies to certain keywords highlighted.

Let me know if anything is a problem.

freedom , edit yep it turned off Colin

Is that option available only to Freedom members?

FWIW I've lost the plot on this whole thing:

Blue links are to advertise of course, but they can disrupt the sense of a sentence even though quite irrelevant to a post (as we know).

However, if those links are stwitched off at UserCP level, then the links won't show even when a member would like them to show, except without changing UserCP option back and forth depending on the post?

Most members (Freedom or not) wouldn't know the UserCP route anyway unless they read the fine print, so would surely wonder what on earth was going on when their posts show links when others don't. Wouldn't they worry about security as to how Briskoda was invading their computer etc?

TBH I wouldn't like to try to solve this problem as I don't know how much advertising you are committed to for an insurance sponsor (for example).

My best suggestion would be that the computer picks up "link words" and then runs an intermediate signature line underneath the post but within the post field but before the signature field in case sigs are turned off. Saying...

"Click a link for more information about the Briskoda Freedom package and Insurance"

Just my thoughts.

Mo,

It only turns the auto linking off on freedom category words for freedom subscribers.

I only find it intrusive if I move my mouse over each word as I read it.

They are here to stay in one form or another as for one it's an effective way of prompting new readers to a service, for example, reviews or the partners section. On the flip side, if somebody were to ask, it's easier for you, the established member to simple say check out the reviews section, without having to go and find the reviews url.

There is no invasion of your computer...the server renders the html code and sends it to your browser.

It's my job to make the whole experince easier, part of this update will be to implement a platform to enable this.

Hope that helps.
