Hi guys/ gals,

basically within last coouple days ive noticed that when i make a left or right turn, and obviously use the indicator(as i dont drive a bmw) i have been experiencing some rather strange symptoms....

either the indication of the indicators on the dash change speed (usually a lot faster/ irregular timing) or like yesterday evening when cornering a mini round about the visual/ sound completely went, and so i suppose the indicators themselves also went off, as i got a funny look from another motorist waiting on the roundabout...

any ideas... been seen before, possible cause etc? before i take it in to be looked at

Only really happens when turning steering wheel, so am guessing faulty wiring within stalk maybe?

Could this be connected to the known problem with the Hazard Flasher button??

AFAIK this houses the relay and is known to fail.

anyone else with thoughts on this please?

Without wishing to be rude why ring JBS to see if they've heard of it.

Why not ring your dealer who will probably supply and fit one free of charge as per the service bulletin?

Hi mate,

my car no longer falls under any servicing agreement, as its now 5 years old (Y plate) and JBS know my car quite well - as they have carried out a lot of work (including servicing)over the last two years of my ownership

It doesn't necesarily follow that your car is out of warranty so you won't be helped, it was a known to be defective part and quite possibly will be replaced FOC.

Failing that most dealers will have one on the shelf and it's a simple change.

Oh ok mate, think that was me getting the wrong end of the stick *oops - am actually going to Bickerton skoda on Monday morning to pick up a complete drivers side wing mirror (dont ask) so will enquire then

if need be would you have the required info on changing it etc, also a possible pricing for the req'd part - just off hand lol

the bloody wing mirror is costing £120 ish as it is(without spraying etc), and ive got to get my car MOT'd this next week

Yes common Hazzard switch fault.

Easily done and is dealer part only as it is a Skoda part not shared

Go for the uprated one for towing.

You know if you get any probs like that you can give me a bell

Sorry about that.

Can you fit it?

Easily done.

There is a liitle trim around the switch.

Remove that.

Pull switch , unclip , then reclip push in to hole and replace trim

It is that easy
