17 or 18 inches?

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm thinking about options for the new vRS. The demo I drove had 18 inch wheels and seemed to ride pretty well but I've not been able to compare that to a car with 17 inch wheels. Has anyone driven the RS with both? How does the ride and road noise compre between the two?

Thanks

Richard

I didnt feel any difference between the two as the profile of the tyres are the same, or very similar........ I went for the 17"'s but wish i went for the 18's as they fill the arch a bit more and look a bit better...... although only a trained eye could tell the difference - your average joe wouldnt know the difference

I test drove one with 17's but ordered the 18's and was suprised to find not much difference even on B roads. I reckon Its worth the extra few quid for looks

alone!

Go for 18" matey. The 17" look way too small imo.

I will those the new option alloys when I order my RS TDI.

Is that what I think it is? Namely a white Octavia vRS?

If so, have you anymore piccys?

It is. Somebody told me the story behind the white colour yesterday. The UK police had ordered white RS and Swedish dealers heard about it so they asked the factory if they could make white for the public as well.

Look out for the police in UK. Fast cars.

It

Whats the reason behind the first one having different wheels ? Is it a dealer car or a private one ?

It´s a dealers car but it´s a new option for the RS. You can choice 17" or 18". I don´t now the name or price but I love them.
