Prepping Dashboard Plastic for a 'Sticky'

Featured Replies

What's the best cleaning/method for preparing plastic to stick something to it?.

I want to place a magnetic sticky onto the dashboard but I want to make sure it doesn't come off as soon as Iv'e put it there so tips please on ensuring it sticks.

Meths but try it on a hidden bit of dash first.

Bet your'e wondering what I've bought that needs sticking aren't you ;) :P

I agree with Stu, meths is best. I did a trafficmaster 4 years ago and it aint come off yet. Also warm the plastic and mount with a hairdryer before sticking and press down hard amd hold down.

Nope - wouldn't give you the satisfaction of asking. I'll just wait till you make your next delivery, Pizza Boy!!

Ooooh, I think this one can wait a little longer............................................but you will want one :D :P

you will[/u'] want one

That being the case then I will assume that if you are a decent guy and true friend you will have already got me one.

Use Meths. My Talex and my mobile are both attached with magnets stuck to the dash. They have NEVER come loose

ITS A TALEX !!!!!!!!!! :D

good piece of kit ...... had one for about 10 months

Can't be we both have them already.

I don't mind asking

" WOT YOU GOT "

Come on tell the suspence is killing me:P and no i don't want one before you ask:D .

Interestingly I was told not to use magnetic tape near an airbag as they use magnets to work and to use sticky velcro instead! Not sure how true this is but sticky velcro worked for me!
