Octavia vRS owners in here!

Featured Replies

Got a few questions regarding these, Ive got up to 5k to spend and Ive found one locally on a 51 plate with 55k miles on the clock in red (best colour IMO) for 5k - seems to be a decent price?

How are they generally to drive, running costs (MPG/part costs) service intervals and so on. Also Id probably want to get the ECU remapped - what cost does this involve and also what power am I likely to expect?

I may go and take a look at this one tomorrow (Its a big, used car place and Im sure they have had this one for a month or 2...) Should alarm bells be ringing or are they not very sought after? Any general info would be great also.

Cheers. :)

only a newby myself to the vRS. had mine about a month. bought mine for £7600, 37k on the clock. in red. its going for its second servive tuesday and is on variable servicing, so every 20 k or 2 years. check what the car is on your buying. £300 for a 40k varibale service with a brake fluid changed. mpg is okay if your motorway running. i tend to use mine for short runs so its a bit more expensive than my previous mr2 roadster on the juice. get around 27mpg on road runs and 38mpg on motorway runs.

still new myself, but its the best place to get your advice on briskoda.

not a modifyer myself so i cant answer those questions.

Welcome from OCUK ;)

I posted my reply over there already, but in short, you'll have no worries running a 55K vRS far into the 100K. A remap will take the car from 180bhp to anything in between 210-230bhp (mine does 216bhp with a Jabba remap).

Any other opinions? Would be very welcome.

My Octy vRS has been modified as shown in my sig. It feels a lot faster than standard:D:D:D

I bought it new in 2004 and it's now done 24000 fault free miles (apart from me busting the sump on road debris:mad::mad:)

It's serviced by the firm that tuned it (Star Performance in Fife) and servicing costs have been about a total of

Hello from a fellow OcUKer...

Also interested in this, so a free bump plus a cheeky request for a heads up on anything you've found on your travels as I've only just started to take the vRS seriously as a potential new motor. :)

seems decent enough!
