you cant beat the old yb power! that car is deffinately a sleeper!

Impressive - it must take some restraint to leave it standard on the outside!!

Boy could I have fun with that.......looks like its rear wheel drive as well ...only thing that gives it away is the steel wheels look wrong

From what I read it's 4WD but that's possibly only hearsay. The AA badge on the grille is a really nice touch.

Im sure that was at Trax last year.

theres a 4x4 badge on the camcover.. so maybe it is

its a good contender for Q car like that white fezza in blackpool ;)

looking at the pic I'd say you were right! The wheels stick out too far from the arches! Looks like someone has basically welded a Escort Cossie floorpan into a Mk3 escort shell! and then bolted in the running gear!

Pretty cool......for a ford:D

nah, that engine looks too far back in the bay to have a pair of shafts running from each side into the wheels arches.

Aye actually thinking about.......Is the escort cossie's motor inline or transverse?? I can't remember!

That's gotta be inline.

could it be the sierra cosworth setup

Ah, seen that before.

the escort was actually a sierra under the skin so are pretty much the same anyway :)

What a beast - I hope it is 4WD!

I still love that 1.8T Clio on steelies...

On the Sierra/Escort Cossie/ 4x4 the front axle sits under/infront of the engine anyhow, drive comes off a transferbox on the side of the gearbox to the front diff via a propshaft so engine location is kind of irrelevant.

Also the Escort cossie is a Sierra underneath anyhow.[/quote']

Is it, well fook me! Thought a sierra was much bigger than an escort! We live and learn lol

all of the cossis's have an in-line mounted engine! iirc the one with the red rocker cover does come from the 4wd model but that dosn't mean anything, the escort and sierra axles are the same but they have propshafts which are different lengths.

Thought the red tops are Leaded fuel only! Blue tops are unleaded??? or is that an urban myth?

Now that I like very much. Truly a sleeper in the finest tradition. Must see a few embarassed faces in the mirrors from that driving seat.

Red tops are from the 3-door and 2wd Sapphire which are leaded fuel only, green tops come from 90spec Sapphire 4x4's and early escorts had blue top then a silver one with a plastic ht lead cover down the centre. ;)

all of the yb cossie production engines ran on unleaded!
