:D

I see Caz (Pusscat) is catching me having made rapid progress up the 'leaderboard' - I have had stuff off for two weeks mind, when on holiday - will have to get a wriggle on, see if I can get folding running anywhere else :rubchin: :D

Steve

Comin' to get ya, Steve ;)

Oh - just done some quick sums, and so you know what you're up against... I should get another 153 points tomorrow, 600 on Tuesday... and another 600 on Thursday :)

Still a long way to go before I catch you tho.... :(

ARRRRGGGGGHHHH!

:sofahide:

:coder:

;)

Steve

Caz will be up my way before long. And I'm really struggling to think of anywhere else I can start the folding....

[looks depressed at 2 "spares/repairs" tower systems]

looking like it'll be 7 weeks or so before I catch u up tho Jase... and you'll have overtaken ColinD by then so you won't be losing a place to me really  - well, not unless someone else has overtaken you by then as well :P

Great i have a load of work units all queued up that won't send.

Well i think i might actually give up in the not too distant unless the client improves.

I seem to process a couple then it just gives up :(

Strange, I am not having any issues. I am using version 502 of the console client on 14 pc's.

No probs here on wintel or mac platforms...

Finally got the buggers to send.

Did a bit of analysis of the clients as I have 5 spare minutes and it appears they were loosing the proxy setting I had set in them.

Client is 5.02 linux, but I'll keep an eye on them. Finally got 6 w/units sent off, just frustrating as that was two weeks lost where i was away.

  • 2 weeks later...

Thats better I'm actually doing work units again :)

I've had a PC down for a few days.... but all 3 are folding away again now nicely - and all working on 600 pointers ;)

Only thing is, the PC that's been sick is now working very slow..... think maybe the HDD is on the way out! Time to invest in a new one methinks :D

I've lost count now as to how many computers i have running the client, as i dont actually work on the same part of the campus i once did lol

think its around 15 ish (with another being added soon me thinks

all good for the cause!

Mine are all still plodding along, cant find anywhere to install a new client though. The team really needs new members now as in a couple of weeks we are going to get stuck, with it taking several months to pass the next place.

I know of a 200+ node supercomputer....

but i think they run enough of their own simulations on it that i wouldnt' get any CPU time :P

Just credited another 600 unit thats taken over a week to crunch. Took 2 hours to do 1%

Right what I'm really confused by is how I'm submitting work units...in the last 6 months all of my pc / hardware has been rebuilt. So some where a machine is ticking stuff of for me that I've forgot about.

Seems the only polite thing is to wind the production house up again...

I did used to love the seti chase, was far more interactive than folding, as it's a shroter turn around...when will I dump next :P

Looking a bit better here now :) Been credited with 2x 600 pointers today and I've got another due to finish tomorrow morning :D

Hope you've got some WUs completing soon Steve... or you'd best prepare to be overtaken ;) Only 411 points ahead of me now!

On the other hand.... looks like if I have any more little setbacks like a pc dying again I'm going to be beaten down a place by the Cheesemonkhai soon :(

Sorry Caz,

You overtook me anyway didn't you as I had the poor form of having machines doing nothing for 2 weeks.

Anyway as long as we keep moving upwards hey :)

indeed..... it's just nice to see 'your own' progress up the board as well as the Team progressing ;)

Mine's chewing another big'un at the moment. Sure hope its a 600 pointer again. :D

I'm about 20k points behind you though caz, so it will be a good while until i catch you.

I seem to be making slow progress up the board... need to find some more machines to install it on :D

If you just keep plugging away, you'll make steady progress, as many members on there don't seem to fold continually.

For me, Caz is getting too close for comfort  - I wish this 600 pointer would finish quicker :D
