Slightly rough running

Featured Replies

I'm noticing at idle slightly rough running, as if the car isn't quite idling right.

Anybody any suggestions as to what this may be?

The car is a 110TDI and seems to be pretty much ok except at idle.

Crappy fuel? When did u last drain the fuel filter (mind you, you need tiny hands!!)

It's Shell Derv Extra, and I don't think it's that as it has been happening for a few tanks now.

The fuel filter was changed at the last service about 8k miles ago.

could always try quickly opening the drainage tap on the filter....

Or maybe your car is just feeling sympathetic to mine...

Mine runs on what ever I find that is cheap (Shell, Esso, Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, etc) - currently on 95.9p/l Morrisons fuel..... (most places are 99.9 around Weymouth)

I did notice that when sitting there if you flick the accelerator it feels like the eingein is actually moving quite a bit. Not flicking it hard either.

Could this rought feeling i am getting combined with this suggest that some mounting bushes are on their way out or softening up.
