Rattle/Vibration in the door on my vRS

Featured Replies

HI

I have some irritating rattle from the left door inside the car, and then i knock carefully on the inside of the door i also could hear that noise. I also have some vibration on both doors then i play deep basses with my stereo, does anybody else have these problems? its veryyyyyyyy anoying, and then you first have heard this noise, i find myself listening to it all the time:mad:

I found some sort of noise coming from my Passanger door over the last day or so, I must check the glove box etc just to make sure it ain't in there.

There's been a lot of past threads of a similar nature - my driver's door rattle stops when I lower the window about 1 cm. Dealer was supposed to have fixed "a loose nut" !! I don't believe they even took the door panel off to have a look. Fortunately there is no rattle at higher speeds or on decent roads, and it seems less when the car has warmed up.

Apparently a lot of these noises are down to the design of the rubber seals, and at one time there was supposed to be a replacement coming - haven't heard anything about it lately.

Car is going in next week to get the modified seals fitted - I shall keep you posted.

PLEASE DO [though I don't know where the hell I'm going to get it done! [see Citygates collapse]

Well I've checked ever possible place a coin for example could be lodged in seat runners etc etc etc and I stiill have my tictic or click click noise on all and every jolt on the car no matter how small.

The only thing I've discovered is that it is worse, louder slightly when the head rest is set up on long legs as it were. When it is pushed right down it is fainter, as it is if the head rest is right out of the seat back.

For all that I still feel it is within the door pillar

I am getting fed up enough to get rid of the car.

Could it be something to do with the seat belt mechanism inside the pillar?

I Have Bad Rattles. Sound As If They Are Coming From The Rear Seat Belt Mechanism Either Side.

I think a common problem is the clips which hold the lower edge of the front door trims in place. My "primary" door rattles go away when I push the trim firmly aginainst the door. I keep meaning to wedge some folded paper or something between the door and the trim at towards the front of the lower edge to see if it helps at all.

I do also have an intermittent "secondary" door noise which sounds like a tick / coin which is on the front passenger door only. Oh and I do of course also have the rear seat belt clip noises. Oh and my real pet hate at the moment, the vibration from the rear interior light and occasionally the sunglasses holder.

All in all quite irritating in an otherwise nice car.
