As the title suggests, if you were changing your car tomorrow would you been more interested in power or toys?

Had I had been choosing between a 1.9tdi Elegance or a 2.0tdi Ambiente I'd have gone for the toys rather than power

For me there are minimums for each, though I suppose my minimum spec is higher than my minimum power. If that makes sense.

Where's the option for both! :D

Chris

Power every time baby!

Yep.

I "needed" climate and cruise on my new car which pretty much meant an Elegance.

Could have had them as options on an ambiente but that would have meant virtually the same cost.

As far as power went , I didn't want anything slower than my Mk1 TDI

Toys :D

Subtle combination of both.

Toys... :)

Vrs PD170 or 2.0 PD140 elegance you mean :)

both, possible with basic 2.0tdi elegance

power :D

*afterall i own a meanly spec'd audi :( but with decent power :)

bit of both really ;)

I like the features / toys of the MK I Octy vRS but I could not be without the power :D

Toys, without a doubt. You can add power (lots of it!) later more easily than you can add toys :thumbup:

If anyone on the planet actually uses all of their toys in a modern car I'd be very surprised.

Leccy windows

Air con

Xenons

Remote locking

A lidded cubby hole

Decent sounds

Errmmm...

That's it for me.

Lots of grunt

Goes round corners

Diesel ( mine's free!)

That's it:thumbup:

I don't need my ar5e warming

I know where I'm going

Nobody sits in the back

I dont need my feet lit up...

Etc etc.

just saved myself

i might be with the minority here but i would go for the one that does the most mpg!

Power please, if it has to be a choice of the two.

If not, I'd want cruise control as a toy, especially with my mileage and a/c. Other than that, steel wheels with trims is fine, don't need a sunroof, cloth seats are better than leather, prefer normal bulbs to xenons, how often do you use fog lights etc etc

Power:rofl: Toys make you lazy:P Give me a ferrari any day.

, prefer normal bulbs to xenons

And why might that be?

Easier to adjust, can upgrade the bulbs

In the words of James May (when impersonating Clarkson).......

PPOOOOWWWEEEERRRRRRR!!!!!

Life is nothing without power!

& power is nothing without control ;)

Both for me, I couldn't be doing with a costly powerful motor with no creature comforts inside. If I were gonna buy an M3 I would avoid the CSL, despite it being the better car as it's a stripped out racer.

Big Power usually equates to big wedge, and if you're spending money, you might as well get something that your totally happy with.

Me too
