the air con makes a constant hissing noise! has any one else got a noisey aircon. i just want to know incase dealer says "they all do that" ?

I get a brief, very quiet, hiss when the Air-con is first switched in, lasts about a second, then it's quiet as a mouse. If yours is hissing constantly, then something is very wrong.

Unless the techs look at it, replace a pipe and cure it in 5mins, reject it. I am of the same opinion as others, a brand-new car should be 100% faultless on delivery.

Barney is absolutely right. Don't waste time, Don't try and fix it, Don't see how it goes. ALL these weaken your position considerably as they can say you have accepted the faults. Reject the car pronto. These dealers need a kick up the A rse. You make me laugh, you'd probably send back a cold pizza, but not 10 grands worth of car! Nuts.

In that scenario, I would give them a written ultimatum, stating along the lines that you are very dissatisfied with the service and initial quality of the car, and for that reason, you will reject it in the next 7 days unless they can promptly fix the issues.

That way, you've stated your intention to reject, and if the dealer values his Skoda dealership and reputation, he'll fix it pronto.

It's also a very good way of finding out how motivated a dealer is to fix you niggles ;)

If you get no positive response, then reject the car. Simple :)

edit: by the way, sorry, have no idea regarding your air con issue which is why you posted in the first place :o
