Octy vRS Review

Seems like some of the papers are a bit slow on the uptake! I think the typical buyer is well of the mark and I haven't read it just skimmed over it but it seems positive. Insurance typical quote seems a bit off too. Does anybody here pay just

Extra reassurance comes from the bright green Brembo brake callipers

Pictures as promised. Having an A4 scanner and this being a larger newspaper some of the the page is missing. But I think you can get the drift. Incase you can't well the only bit missing is a tiny shot of the car and the word enough?

The pictures with the actual article are black and white and not great, there's better about. I'm sure you have all seen a black Octy vRS estate before, and the white and black interior.

I was quite surprised at the quoted 45% of drivers surveyed who would turn their noses up in principle at a Skoda!

Would be interesting to know the survey base, but thats 45% who have no idea what they are missing!

How the write a Skoda review in four easy steps for lazy journalists:

1. Talk about the old joke image.

2. Point out that they're now owned by VW.

3. Be amazed how good they are.

4. Be amazed they're still cheap.

Note: If you don't what to annoy existing Skoda owners skip 1 and 2 and just review the damn car!

And don't forget the odd glaring error, and / or factual inaccuracy..

Brembo brakes indeed

Or if you write for associated newspapers (mail, metro, etc) don't bother with 3 and 4 and just bang on and on about old jokes and VW technology

In the normal course of events I would have expected ffelan (Paul) to be bursting into print about Tavia4X4 (Ian) - but as the article is about the vRS the boot is very much on the other foot! So, Ian, lets have your comments...

hi CupidStunt(Boro,

im paying

Ive had a dealer tell me that the brakes are Brembo on my Fabia. He wasn't the one I bought my car from and I was simply in to have another drive durnthat long wait...so i just nodded agreement and waste some of their diesel.

I think some people/dealers like to suggest the Brembo link...added credibility or perhaps ignorance: oh painted calipers = Brembo. thats why all the boy racers do it!!

Great, Skoda get crap reviews, poor jokes and the same old crap they have been peddling for years.

I love it because it just means the car is more valuable to those of us who drive them and like the boyo who tried it on this morning in his Focus RS, all he got to stare at was my tail pipe from a very long way away. :weeping:

I bet he nearly choked on his bloody cornflakes! :jawbig: The best bit was seeing him trying to catch me up by crossing across 3 lanes of heavy traffic and back again. It's called the "driving like a embarrased knob" tale or, my Fix Or Repair Daily just got beaten BY A BLOODY SKODA. .....I mean the shame of it!! :fence3d:

I had the last laugh...So journalists the moral of this story is????? Yep it's a Skoda and it's gonna beat you time and time again and don't you look like a knob for spending all that money on what really IS a crap car after all, cause YOU BELIEVED THE HYPE!! :smashfrea

End of line...................
