How Do You Park Your Car........

Featured Replies

Usually just handbrake, not often parking on hills.

Try not to leave in gear after seeing the cost of damage when a car nudged another car whilst parked in gear.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who spends ages trying to find the perfect parking space! My other half thinks I'm mad!

I always use the handbrake and always leave it in 1st gear. I tend to keep the wheels straight most times. Most people I know leave their car in neutral when parked, as that's what they are taught.

Just a set of chocks. Save's wear and tear.

Just hand brake as where I live is flat. I tend to leave it in gear if I'm on a serious hill, but to be honest, how often do modern handbrakes fail? What is there to fail? Cable could snap I suppose, but wouldn't have thought that was particularly likely!

Am I the only person that puts lock on, when parked against a kerb on a hill?
