Audio option missing from MaxiDot

Featured Replies

Bit of a strange one:

I took my Stream unit out the other day to fit an MP3 adaptor where the CD autochanger socket normally lives, no problems at all or at least thats what I thought..............

I've noticed today that when you bring up the menu on the MaxiDot screen the option to display the audio details is missing.

Is there a procedure I need to go through to make the MD see the stereo?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)

Are all the connectors back in properly, I would guess the maxidot display is on one of the bank of connections that are also used to control the cd changer.

That's the case on the Octy 1. Green block for changer, yellow block to connect to instrument cluster IIRC. The blocks just slot together on the Octy 1 so are easy to swap round. No idea for the Octy 2 though.

Might sound silly but if the unit is not switched on it won't show on the maxidot....

I've checked all the connectors in the back at least twice, the controls on the steering wheel work perfectly.

Obviously i've tried this with the head unit switched on and it makes no difference.

The connectors are different on the Octy II, it's a quadlock system so all the different cable plugs connect into a plastic block and that block then connects to the head unit as one.

I'm going to have another look at the connectors to make sure one isn't dislodged in some strange way.

...I really don't know...

I've removed and then put in again my stream readio and everything went ok.

Then I put in a MFD2 and also this time everything ok (option "navigation" appeared automatically in Maxidot menu).

Try removing the mp3 adapter.
