Rear Numberplate LEDs

Featured Replies

Well I saw a lexus fly buy the other day with its standard rear LEDs on its numberplate. Silly little thing but i thought it looked really good. So I had a little investigation on the net for LED type festoon bulbs (39mm) and found that autobulbs done them.

So here are the replacement LED festoons to standard fit festoon bulb:

Here is photo with standard bulbs:

With one old and one LED:

Both new LEDs fitted:

Just remember when fitting, if they don't work swap the polarity around as LEDs only work in one direction of electrical flow.

Oh and forgot to say... this will work on Fabia, Superb and Octavia all are 39mm festoons.

Nice little mod for under £10 with winter coming, what color did you opt for white or blue?

Went for white, I know to the camera it looks blue, but in reality its a really bright white bit like xenon.

Now everyone else in the family wants their cars doing! Might suggest it at work.. nice little money earner fitting them to landies lol

Looks good. Can we have a night shot, please? :)

Thats the main reason I fitted them, find standard bulbs way to dim.

If anyone can source me a really bright indicator light i'd be very pleased, way to dim on the rear of my golf.

Just realised.. these will fit my interior lights as well.... :D

looks good :D ice white!

Might get some. Thanks for that!

I just discovered some blue LEDs in the same style, so fitted them. Will get some piccies when the night comes in around 9. I'm still in two minds, so the oem bulbs may yet get refitted. :)

Hmmm... blue will draw the wrong attention i'd imagine, where as the white looks almost OEM, just posher!

Thats my thoughts too, but I figured I'd see what blue looked like first before lashing out

Jesus! How bright are those!

Think I may also get some, cheers for that

Well, it's about getting dark enough - gonna nip out for a photo now.

Oh my God!

1) they're illegal I think as they don't illuminate very well

2) they look pants in blue. Can't really swap them back now, but might leave for the CZ trip to inject some humour.
