octy vrs idle

Featured Replies

hi guys just felt my wifes vrs series 1 starting to give a slightly irratic idle nothing too much .... or is it ??? it has done 12k with two services .. sounds good

the needle doesn't register the flutter but you can feel it and definitely hear it !

has anyone else experienced this ? is it a service issue ? is it the start of the coil packs giving up for the ghost ( jesus not again ) and thoughts you can stir into the pot are greatfully received as always

If you've had new coil packs before they should be fine - but did you have a complete set or just the previously faulty one replaced?

It could be your MAF (mass air flow) meter needs cleaning.

There are instructions in the "guides and how-to" section of this website.

My car has done this from new, its at 40K now and i have changed plugs still the same maf cleaned no change and throttle body the only thing that make it idle normal is to turn A/C on.

I should add that ours does it occasionally too. Doesnt cause any harm though.

yep mine does it too i stopped worrying about it

does seem intermittant though

yea mine does it also and its never bothered me as its not bad what so ever, well compared to my brothers 16v clio anway :D
