High mileage Fabias

Featured Replies

My friend has a PD130 Octy. 30 months old and a meagre 135,000 miles on the clock.

Mechanically very little has gone wrong. He's replaced the clutch once and the shocks (both at 101k miles). Replaced the front bushes at 121,000. Other than the standard consumables (tyres, discs and pads) not a lot else to report.

Oh and it has been remapped for nearly 130,000 of the 135,000 miles :D

I've nearly had my fabia 1 year and it had 14,500 on it when i got it now its got over 37,000 :o

Guy that purchased my vRS had a W reg Fabia 1.4 8v with 100k on it.

He said he'd done nothing but scheduled maintenance. Sounded like mostly long motorway journeys over the last 6 years of ownership though.

I hope my vRS will keep up and do 200k. I'm on 23k after 6 months from new.

I noticed ScoobyChris' post. To put some balance on it, my Scoob has covered 130k in 4 years from new (those fuel bills drove me to the vRS for daily driving) and have had the following done to the Scoob:

New engine at 76k - piston rings shot :(

New turbo.

New clutch.

New battery.

Snapped driveshaft (eek - I must be an animal).

Replaced front wheel bearing's and assembly's as the whole thing had melted.

So many other things I can't remember!

On top of that I got PPP, Eibach's, decat etc so it's cost a ton of money, but I still love it and I still love my Furby too :)
