I know someone who had a water pump fail on the Octavia diesel. The repair involved replacing the head gasket which had failed due to overheating, the water pump, and the cambelt - even though the latter had been replaced not long before the incident.

Thats an excellent price. Bite their hands off and ask them to add the water pump in as well! Should be around £300 all in, a great price from a dealer. :)
