What about the very outer bead and the flat bit between the spokes polished, and the rest black?

Hmmmm....dunno.

The bead is only 2mm wide & I don't think that is enough to pull off the desired effect.

Might go for diamond cut face with powder coated black inserts.

what do you mean by inserts? Just the badge?

No. The part between the spokes.

diamond cut with mat black between the spokes... just to be different !

I've always wanted chunky 5 spokes in white. I love the white wheels on black so when I have the money I'll probably end up getting the same wheels refurbed in white or something similar. That or the complete opposite and get white multispoke alloys as I saw some on a black swift which looked good. Anyway that's my suggestion go rally style white or diamond cut out of the options you've given.

White had crossed my mind, but they'd show the slighest hint of brake dust & be a nightmare to keep clean!! :)

Diamond cut looks amasing. Most Mercedes wheels are diamond cut but the only problem is that they corrode under the laquer VERY easily and they need waxing/protecting ona regular basis especially in winter. Going for a high shine silver may be a better option all round as they are easier to maintain and look great too.

I'll make sure I put several coats of wax on them before fitting to the car. And then a couple more every time I wash them (usually once a week).

I think I'm gonna keep the standard 16" alloys for winter use (maybe even treat them to an anthracite finish!).

Ok then. With 23 votes in total & 15 of those in favour of the diamond cut finish, I'm gonna go for it - with a slight difference!

I'm gonna get them powder coated in anthracite first & then get the faces diamiond cut.

Anyone fancy photoshopping this pic to show the desired effect?

I think that will look smart - with Anthracite in the 'Dairylea cheese pieces'.

Really struggling to find anybody locally who will diamond cut these alloys! :(

Might have to re-think my strategy! ;)

Being substantial wheels, I'd reckon a holographic effect would be ace :) Perhaps get some self-adhesive sticky paper

But, But! One day, all cars will look like this  (holographic wheels).

It's not my fault that they haven't invented them yet

Right then!! These alloys are turning out to be a nightmare to get diamond cut. :(

So, I've had to have a re-think. I found a powder coater that would do them in a colour of my choice but couldn't strip the existing stuff off (and they are coated with tons & tons of lacquer from the factory!). I found a place that strips paint off doors etc & has done a few alloys but said that the TT Comps are a nightmare to do & would cost a fair bit.

So I went to another place that would shot blast them & wet paint them in any automotive paint.

Soooo, I'm going to get them painted in SEAT Platninum Grey! Hopefully, dropping them off on Wed & should get them back by the end of the week.

Pics will be posted up, as always.

Just in case you don't know what Platinum Grey looks like, here's a Leon Cupra R wearing the paint in question!!

Shamelessly nicked from a SCN!!

Look forward to seeing the pics Jon.

Is this the company in Darlo?

Yeah, it's the place that I stumbled across when I was trying to find the powder coating place. It's called Wheel Smart.

Just got the wheels back from the refurbers.

Jeez! I'm blown away by the colour & finish! They're gonna look very, very tasty on the car.

But I'm afraid I'm going to be a bit a of a tease, as I don't have my camera with me. :D

Might be able to post a pic up tonight when I get home.
