It came done to two choices - 17" VW Santa Monica alloys or 17" Audi TT Competition alloys.

Original Santa Monica's are few & far between & I really have a soft spot the Comps!!

Got these today for a decent price. All 4 could benefit from a refurb, but I'm undecided on what finish. Although a mirror polish looks nice, I don't think it will work on the Fabia.

So, I'll put it to the vote! What do you think?

Sell the tt comps to me!

Original only mate. Get them refurbed to standard

OEM look is best.

Ive seen them done in anthracite and they look sexy, however I dont reckon they will suit a black car.

Either a sparkly silver or maybe a kinda shadow chrome look may be different and saucy.

Which standard? They were available polished or silver.

I disagree 100% with both of you.

Get them painted to the original vRS alloy finish... Ross did this to his and they looked OEM - do it.

Just thought of another option, which would be to have the OEM finish & have a grey/anthracite insert.

Seen them done that way but black inserts, looked good.

That looks nice.

Is it yours?

That looks nice.

Is it yours?

Yes

Jon - They look fab on a Fabia. I love them as standard finish which is diamond cut polished I think.

Is there anywhere local that can do that finish?? I remember when I had diamond cut on my M3, had problems finding a reburber in the area that did them. I ended up buying a new wheel in the end...

Do have any idea of weight of a wheel with tyre Jon? Just curious as std 16" wheel is 16.7 kg's with tyre and my 17" octy was 18 kg's with tyre and it does feel slightly slower...:(

I'm hoping that Romax will diamond cut them, although somebody said they won't do it.

I'll find out later today.

With 225/45 tyres on they weight nearly 19kg, so with 205/40 tyres they would be about the same as yours.

Romax didn't do diamond cut when I asked a few years back.

Sorry, I did find someone that did refurb diamond cut, Sprint Finish.

I think the guy has set-up his own business now but he was not mobile at present as I phoned him a few months back to do my Octy's. He's in Sunderland I believe.

Let me know if you want his number.

PS Suprised to hear that the wheels don't weigh as much as they look. So much metal....;)

If you could find his number that would be good.

Sorry, bad news Jon. I have just tried the number he left me and it is no longer connected.

I have also contacted Sprint Finish who he had a franchise and they informed me that there is no one in the area no more.

Possible good news is that they are based in the Leeds area so not too far to travel to drop them off.

Thanks for trying anyway!

Just remembered I had my AX GT alloys diamond cut at a place in Sunderland - SEM I think it was called.

Polished rim with black spokes!

Polished rim with black spokes!

Only problem with that is the spokes blend into the rim. You really need a slighyly dished rim make that work.
