MG Races(+ support) at Castle Combe 16-9-06

Featured Replies

Another overcast 100% cloudy day for me and the rest of the 'togs at Combe yesterday - oh well.

All images taken with EOS 350d and Canon 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 DO IS USM, with a simple batch process in CS2 consisting of a resize to 800 X 533 pixels and USM at 250%, Radius 0.3 and threshold 1.

No colour, contrast, levels tweaks as I'm tooo lazy and not very good at it yet!!

1.

David Bishop in his suprisingly quick MG TC! I don't know why I tilted the camera, but I quite like the effect, although I know many of you on here won't

2.

1/250s pan complete with a slight puff of smoke under braking towards Camp.

3.

John Davies in his Triumph Vitesse ESTATE! Really gave it some stick too!

4.

Almost too much to avoid THIS! (he did though!)

5.

A 1/60s pan of Kevan Hadfield in his Triumph Spitfire mk4. (note to self - must lower shutter speed more!!!)

6.

Joe Parrington "cocking a leg" in his MGB GTV8 exiting the Esses. 1/160s f/7.1

7.

The FF1600's always provide good, close racing - Pat Blakeney applying a bit of opposite lock!!

8.

Bill Brockbank (in focus!) in his silly BHP Ovni Yellow Seat Ibiza battling hard into Tower!!

What size lens were you using?

I was using a Canon EOS 350D camera, and a Canon 70 - 300mm f/4.5 - 5.6 DO IS USM telephoto lens!

Sorry mate, just realize you did post that originally, I was too busy checking out your pics.

Great pics thanks for posting them

Excellent pics! I need to go out and give my new 70-300mm telephoto lens a workout :D

Chris

Very nice mate - my only C+C would be to see a tighter crop on some images.

But - jealous! Nice snaps.

Do you use a monopod for support or shoot freehand (I see you have an IS lense there).

Thanks for all the comments people!

I would like tighter crops too hewsey, but TBH I am just soooooooo lazy, that I can't be bothered!! When your going through 300 odd images you think "Yeah, that one would look better a bit tighter" but I always forget!

And I dopn't have a monopod, but the IS DOES come in handy, esp. for the 1/60s shots :-P

Very nice picture's. And some nice cars!
