With all the threads regarding police speeding, and the two conflicting camps of opinion, it would be interesting to know who on this forum is actually one of our boys in blue:)

I know of at least one, maybe two, possibly three, and perhaps four!

Let's face it ANYBODY expects favours from colleagues, it's what makes the world go round, whatever ones chosen profession.

I'm not saying it's right,

It's just the way of the world.

Whilst on the subject of the Police, can anyone tell me "How many people have been convicted of useing a Mobile Phone whilst driving " or " the Illegal use of Fog lights"....Has anyone actually been done for these offences. The number of people still doing it !!!!

I know a couple of people at work who have received on the spot fines for driving with foglights

Local paper this week reports someone done for drunk driving after being pulled for driving with fogs on.

Chris

Was pulled over twice in my VTR and given a lecture on fog lights, but only warned nothing more.

Using my mobile i got a no no nod from a copper crossing at the lights, but it wasnt law at the time.

If you are spotted commiting any moving traffic offence you are in the firing line for a breath test. Whilst driving with your fogs on unnecessarily is a pain for others on the road, I'm not absolutely sure it's an offence.

I saw a race blue Octy vRs in Tottington this morning (and it wasn't the Horners demo one). Was it you?

I'm not :)

Nope wasn't me .......

I couldnt give a toss who is a Policeman. Why should I? They have a job to do and are as welcome here as anyone. Have you had your 'collar felt' or something?

To help people out ....... this is taken from www.askthe.police.uk Question Q400

A lot of cars have their fog lights on when its not foggy, is it legal?

Answer

The use of front and rear fog lights is only to be used in cases of seriously reduced visibility. Using fog lights when the visibility is not seriously reduced can dazzle and cause discomfort to other road users. There seems to be an absurd trend at the moment for drivers to have their fog lights on regardless of the conditions and the time of day. This can be dangerous to other road users and is an offence, which could mean you are liable for a substantial fine.

It might, at a guess, constitute driving without due care and attention.

My ex-boss got pulled over by a police van for using a mobile without a hands-free. He made things worse by not initially realising it was a police van and flipping the bird at them when they told him to hang up.

I'm not a copper i'm a mechanic... for the shear reason my company car is better here lol. Local bobby drives astras... not my cup of tea lol!
