Thieving gits!

Featured Replies

I can top that for absolute bare faced cheek.

Picture the scene outside a busy Skoda main Dealers in Glasgow my mates Octy is parked not 20 yards from the front door in plain view. This thieving git unscrews the front number plate and then proceeds to carefully remove the front bumper moulding, and no-one sees a thing!

We think he double parked a car so that he wasn't noticed (double parking is very common in the street unfortunately).

The upshot is my mate now has to buy a new moulding. His car was not in for repair it was just parked outside so the garage cannot be held responsible, even they were shocked at the audacity of this scumbag.

What chance have you got!

My god! Glad i don`t live in UK.

When people steal from a car here in DK, they nick the stereo or speakers.

I think it`s kind of amazing that people will steal hubcaps, mirrors, areals etc.....I`m just amazed!

Have tyre iron willing to travel:D

As much as I agree with the sentiment all that happens is that you end up with a criminal record 'cos the ineffective bar stewards (aka the constabulary) nick you for carrying, taking the law into your own hands etc....

If they were less concerned with milking the motorist and actually had some more men out on the beat maybe there would be less scum on the street in the first place.

Bad luck....Round here they would have left you the glass and nicked the car!!!

I went into my local dealers last year, just after I got my vRS, to buy a new N/S mirror glass. The one on the car when I got it was plain white & unheated. The service guy noted my address & pointed to a red vRS in the car park. "That guy lives in the same street as you. He's in for a mirror glass as well; somebody nicked his passenger one"

It only occurred to me several days later that if the guy was observant he would have seen my 'new' vRS turn up in the street with a 'white' passenger door mirror glass; couple weeks later his 'blue' passenger mirror glass is nicked; day later my car now has matching 'blue' mirror glasses.

I almost felt I should knock on his door & plead my innocence. :o

i parked about 100 yards from a mates house in loughborough

for about 20 minutes one saturday night last year

whilst we were in his house we heard a mob rampage down the street

when i went out every car in the street

had had its mirror kicked off at the pavement side

some cars had been run over too,

as in jumped on bonnet /roof / boot

police did come, but wouldn't deal with whole lot as one incident

they said that every person had to report their property seperately

AFAIK only the owner of the golf next to my octy reported their's too.

i got a letter a week later from the police saying no-one had been caught

but they included a leaflet entitled

"how not to be a victim of crime"

i was quoted £120ish by main dealer for entire new mirror

as the damage was to the swivel pin that connects the mirror to the car

luckily another SOCGB member managed to fix mine for me FOC
