Thieving gits!

Featured Replies

Came out this morning, got in the car, went to reverse it back into the drive to turn round (it had been parked on the road overnight), and was confronted with a black passenger mirror, very unreflective. Bu99er! thinks I, someone has knocked it when going past and smashed the glass. Got out and looked around, no glass

Upon looking more closely, the glass is missing and the wires for the heater mat have been neatly disconnected. Some thieving Octavia driver with a broken mirror has helped himself to a replacement instead of going and buying one, like normal people. :grumpy: :finger:

I suppose the only slight consolation is they didn't cut the wires as well :(

So if you're reading this, Mr Thieving Git of Wootton Bassett, you owe me £42.75, and an apology.

New glass should be available on Wednesday.

Humph!

Could also be a Mk4 golf or Seat Leon, as they use the same mirrors.

B******s.

B******s removed my brothers corsa wing mirror not so long ago. Took the whole lot, no damage to the car and even taped up the wires. (?)

Nick - I got a genuine used item on EBay for under a fiver

Have found one or two on fleabay - if I win one I will politely ask Skoda to put theirs on the shelf. Thanks.

some bugger nicked my front valve caps the other night. Just the two front ones. Both plasticky ones that came with the car. What a muppet.

Yes, normally it would be, but the car that normally lives in the garage was out on the drive, reducing the spaces available. As it's a two-man operation to get it back in the garage, and I was feeling lazy yesterday afternoon when I got back, I left the Octy out on the road for one night. That said if it had been on the drive it would only have been a few feet further for the thief to walk - not sure they'd have been deterred...

Sorry to hear about that Nick. It's pathetic behaviour, but unfortunately behaviour which cannot be prevented from happening.

People are stealing anything now,

Anybody else fancy an official hunting season on thieving b*stards?

Have tyre iron willing to travel:D

My Golf was on my drive on axle stands. Came out one morning to find the axle stands replaced with bricks. FFS.

thats amazing

thieving sods :thumbdwn:

They stole your axle stands and didn't nick the wheels?

I don't know wether to laugh at how sad the person was or cry at how sad people are :S

I'm amazed they went to the bother or bricking it up TBH. They'd usually push the car off the temporary stands once they'd knicked the propper ones.

:thumbdwn:

Thats the trouble... anything can be sold on ebay... so anything that isn't bolted down is nicked... we put solar lights in our front drive for a bit of help having number of cars on drive it is a tight squeeze so having a waypoint along the fence is handy... they were nicked. We even had our flower pots and hanging baskets nicked couple of years ago.

Amount of replacement aerials i was having to buy for my golf (not anti-thft like skoda ones) when it was parked in street was crazy. About two weeks ago i put my steelies back on for the winter.... left the car in a carpark,.... only to return to find my hubcaps nicked.

No person's property is sacred anymore.

wabbit season, duck season , wabbit season duck season... you get the idea.

I think sterilisation should be the punishment for all forms of theft.

Shocking story....I worry about whats this country will be like in 20 or 30 years time....
