Replacing Headlight Indicator Bulb?

Featured Replies

Hi i'm wanting to get rid of that "fried egg" orange indicator look that my car has on the headlights.

I was thinking about replacing them with some clear bulbs to make them look a lot neater.

Any ideas where I can get them from, what part number I need and what price I could get them for?

I think this has been covered before but I don't know what to type in a search to bring up the relevant post.

Picture of current headlights (notice the orange indicators in the headlights, I want to replace them with clear bulbs for a neater finish):

Thanks, Chris.

Philips Silver Vision.

Osram Diadem is another option of Philips SilverVision to get rid of that "fried egg" orange indicator look ;)

Anyone have a link & are the bulbs universal or are they specific as in H3, H7 etc...

Having purchased the Philips and the Silvatecs (for different cars), I recommend the silvatecs. They shine brightly and they seem to be more silver than the Philips ones (which look a bit eggy in bright light).

Bulb is something like PY21W... Offset pins, round, 21 watts.

Google for silvatec uk.... Should be possible to get them for

Just got some Osram Diadems this morn and put them in along side the Ring Enigma ones. They both retail for about the same price but the Osram ones are better. Bought 2 pairs from powerbulbs.com (I think) and you get free blue side lights! YAY. Be carefull when taking the rear cluster of bulbs out as the orange std bulbs in mine chipped all the orange paint off inside the cluster and up close it looks noticable. I will post a photo later though as I should be heading back to college now.

Got philips silver visions on all our cars.. looks better and brighter

As vindaloo said, make sure you get the offset ones and not bulbs where the pins are opposite each other.

hhmm... seems to be a problem with the server they're on... or maybe the domain.. or maybe even a routing issue somewhere..

I'll have to have a proper look when I get home

DON'T be tempted by those cheap ones on Ebay

They are NOT legal as I had 2 pairs which are not that visible even in the day. Be warned.

Yep i can vouch for that...... I bought some of the cheaper silver bulbs off eBay for the CTR and they were awful. Not too bad at night but in the daytime even when not sunny you could hardly see them!!!

Changed them for Silver-visions and they are perfect. Also got Silver visions in the furby.

Cheers

Dave.

Nice

Such an effective mod and takes no time at all to do :)

And unlike the main bulbs these ones are pretty easy to get to, with or without having Xenons :)
