hi i have an octavia vrs it has got water coming into the car at the bottom of the plastic membrain behind the door card has anyone got any advice on how to stop it

WOULD A BEAD OF CLEAR SILICONE STOP IT

sounds like the metal liner behind the plastic membrain has been cut..... and allows the water to leak in. It happened on my car when a previous owner fitted aftermarket speakers :-(

there is no metal liner behind mine just the plastic membrane on both sides no signs of the membrane ever being off before

Give it a go if you like.

I'd replace it personally with a latter foam membrane and seal that on, inc behind the speaker.

Then dont worry about it. Was refering to front door, but the same applies.

Anyone know how much are the new foam membranes are? Mine seems to leak most days give the start of the winter climate in weymouth.

how much are the new ones and is it a modification skoda have come up with to stop the water leaks

Im pretty sure they are less than a tenner.

the standard plastic ones dont leak unless they have been played with and not realealed correctly. I think the foam ones are just an improvement over time and get issued as a replacement,
