Things I miss from my MkI Octy now I've got a MkII

Featured Replies

Having spent 3 years driving an Octavia Elegance Estate, I switched to the New Octavia 4x4 Estate on 1st September, now some 4,000 miles later there are a few bits I miss...

1) Filler cap release on dash (that way I know it's locked)

2) No coin tray (being a man I never carry cash, so come unstuck in cash-n-carry etc where the trolley needs a

Where did you store the headrests in your 'old' Estate?

There are holes in the seat base which can be found when the seat base is in the vertical position

3) The little sun visor over the rear view mirror (great for blue-tacking notes/directions too - also kept the sun out!)

Did you have a sunroof in the last one?? I though the little visor was something to do with that.

Yep - it did have a sunroof - but the visor would be equally useful without!

There are? Only in estates? :rubchin:

I find teh little cubby low on the right of the steering wheel handy for coins, its lined so they don't rattle

i have both the head rest holes and the middle visor on my 53 plate, octy vrs.

there is a coin tray on the side of the seat.

Has anyone got a picture of this cubby hole open? I'm trying to work out if it's big enough to store something, but I've never seen a picture of it.

Of course, I could just wait for my Octy to arrive...

I use that cubby hole quiet extensivly, cash, cards, and both mobile phones (work and private) go in there when I am driving.

On the Octy II . doesn't the tinted top section of the windscreen come down in the middle to keep sun out in between what the visors cover? I agree it was useful on the Octy I but maybe not as neccessary on the II.

Appreciate you can't stick notes to thin air though!

I'll have to go and check, but I'm sure my little driver side cubby isn't carpeted...

The tint over the mirror is as good as useless, IMO. Bring back the flap! :)

That helps a lot, thanks (especially as the car is delayed another week)

I want my flap back too!

I must have had a flap but I can't say I miss it as I didn't remember it till this thread came along.

I wonder if I have them - I bet I do and I've never noticed. I want to nip out to the carpark and check now!!

Do it, you might be a member of the "2 hole, flap club"

I definitely have a flap. I just need to check my back seat area for holes

Either I'm being daft or I have no holes. Anyone got a pic?

Okay I was being dim - I had another look and spotted them

Nice idea, I like it! :)
