Uneven tyre wear - huge ammount of camber

Featured Replies

Had the wheels off at the weekend to bleed the brakes and noticed that my front tyres are wearing a LOT on the inside.

They were new Kuhmo KU31'2 about 6000 miles ago and the inside inch now has no tread on it what so ever  The middle and outer edge look almost new.

The previous set of tyres were part worns and did the same but at that time everyone (here) said they must have worn like that on their previous car because tyres wear in the manner thay start off in (apparently not)

This is the same on both sides.

Could this be a result of changing to VRS springs but not changing the struts?

I asked the tyre fitters to do a full wheel alingment at the time of fitting

Looking at the car it looks like there is no way of adjusting the camber angle - is there ?

You can adjust camber via a bolt on bottom of one of the struts somewhere. However, I don't know exactly where it is, as I've never done it myself.

changing the height of the suspension will naturally increase the negative camber on the wheels, it will do this regardless of which dampers you have fitted.... as mentioned above there is two pinch bolts which join the swivel hub assembly to the damper, you will need an accurate camber gauge to set it properly so you might be better off going to a well equiped garage to get it done...
