Featured Replies

have just seen one of these and i must say they look well smart any one any idea if they would be the same as the 150bhp sri model just with dif map?

wonder what the stats are, only group 13 ins just comes to show that deisel motors are catching up with petrol hatches very quickly.

Probably never see one on the road. There'll only be 100 made. IIRC, You have 3 settings, one for 150hp, another for 170hp and the other for 203.

Read a mag with this in about 4 mnths ago. They were only about

I was following one of these the other day... They look pretty cool.. and nearly as fast as the Astra VXR as well... :D

The picture on that website looks truly horrendous!

seen one on the Vauxhall trade stand at the touring cars meeting at Oulton park , looked pretty impressive , and everybody has got to wish that Skoda would do something similar in the modified cars/parts department

But surely that would be against their policy of "MOD YOUR CAR AND DIE!"

Exactly.. Skoda don't modify car's, wabbits do!

This month's Evo mag has a write up and report that Thurlby only have six left (of the 100) but they are looking into offering 'customer upgrades' in the future.

Surly though, get an Octavia vRS TDi with a remap (170bhp with, say, plus 25% = 212 bhp) and a few suspension mods and you'll be there!

WOW its a small world.

I live down the road from Thurlbys. Bought my Vectra GSI from them so i went to test drive a 888Astra in black to do a trade in with mine. F*** me its quick when you push the sports button and even when its in the normal 150bhp mode. I drove it at their Louth dealership around the bypass, fairly standard interior, also crap boot space & driving position compaired to VRS, VRS has better seats too.

My missus came with me and she liked it but wanted to know if i could really shell out 19K on an astra, plus i reckon it will depreciate fast:( .

But it does drive well, better than the VXR, which i also tried, nearly as quick too.

So we then went to the Skoda dealers in grimsby last week to try the VRS and the rest is history.

I still love the looks of the 888 though and will probabaly be gutted when one overtakes in my new VRS, theres quite a few on the road round here.:(

Just couldn't bring myself to spend the

P.S. wait till a few second hand ones start knocking about if you're after one, or buy a cheap cdti and retro fit the parts from 888racing.

You wont get much from a remap of the TDI.. the particulate filter is the bottleneck..

Oh yeah... a VXR+remap= 290bhp

again.. controllable on the sports button :D

Hope that's got an LSD on it then

The traction in the wet must be awful for a remapped VXR. Even though they've huge tyres as standard. I really love the look of them though....

regal autosports do a 340bhp kit for the VXR now :D

The price is very good. Fitted price £1,801.00.
