APR K04 Turbo Upgrade

Along with all the other possible modifications i.e. remap, exhaust, induction kit etc. you can apparantly achieve 350bhp quite easily as this short

proves. Nearside (with camera) Audi S3, middle Golf R32 and farside MkV Golf GTi with turbo conversion and other tweaks.

Dave, your prayers have been answered unless youv'e gone and px'd it for a Monaro VXR?.

Looks tasty:D Just done the conversion and seems to work out at about

I think that £2.2k includes mapping so it might be a bit cheaper for the kit and then some mapping over here.

Ahh the modding bug! The turbo kit is all very well, even if it includes a map, but what about the knock on effects - exhaust, filter, gearbox, brakes..... In my experience, once you start down a big power route, all sorts of other considerations and costs come into the equation, not to mention hassle factor.... My cousin once said after a turbo fire at 130 mph in France in his modified audi quattro in 1989, I was 16!, "if you want a fast car, buy a fast car - don't try to make a slow car fast". Needless to say I didn't listen - but my own later experience has proved it true .....

We can all dream tho!!

My mate has an R32, running ypwards of 270bhp, and he only pips me on a full launch. I imagine if I had a 320bhp Golf, i'd leave him sat there.

Anyway, i'd already seen that Steve, and would just need the turbo, manifold, and map. What would the price be, as I cant make any sense out of that site.

Talk to the young lady at Awesome...better yet give me 24 hours and we can have a group buy :)

at ten of the best the cars that won the individual groups, what was their transmission setups?

also please go back to the video's taken at upper heyford of me, phil and johnny. the two cars of interest here are the two octavia elegence 1.8T estates running about the same power but the major difference being the FWD Vs. AWD.

what sort of power are the likes of Dave or Des running? similar to Eddie? would make for a very interesting comparison

I can vouch for that, having been sat in said R32...

from my limited knowledge both eddy and dave are running the same sort of powr and the same gearbox so possibly the perfect comparison.

briskoda sweepstake maybe? i know where my money would go :D

Dave = me?

Mine is standard :)

And if it wasnt, eddie is up by quite some margin.

as in dave with the GT28RS powered mk1 octavia vRS ;)

Jolly good then :)

Hardly a fair comparison is it when both are reputed to be in excess of 400bhp

how is it not a fair comparison?? comparing a ~450bhp 4x4 octavia Vs. a ~450bhp FWD octavia

seems quite fair to me, very similar to the race between me and phil at heyford.

Daves is only just nudging 400bhp iirc and is currently in bits, so no it's not a fair comparison.
