G'day from Glasgow

Featured Replies

Hi there everyone.

I've been on the site for a few weeks now.... not posting, just furnishing myself with knowledge for purchasing an octavia vRS.

I picked one up yesterday from another Briskoda member, and i'm mightily impressed with it.

I've driven fast cars all from day one... GT4's, Fiat coupe 20v Turbos etc. I expected the octavia to be a bit sluggish without a remap, but it fair picks up speed for the size of it!

Anyhow, just thought i'd say hello to everyone.. and i hope to meet a few people up glasgow way soon if there;s any meets on etc.

I'll post pictures in a min.

Cheers

Greg

OK, surprised nobody asked yet................................when are you getting it remapped? :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Ha ha. I was expecting to get it done this week, but i'm suprised how it goes standard.

Funnily enough, i was out in a supposedly remapped one today, and there seemed to be nothing between them.

I'm making sure everything is fine 1st. Then i'll get the revo free trial to experience the difference.

All is well, i was throwing it around A/B roads today and it fair handles too. I'm so impressed. it;s 10 time the car i expected! whoop

Thanks guys!

Hello from Falkirk, you will have to get to the next Scottish meet (if we ever have another one):D

welcome fellow scot! nice car! how does it compare with your copupe?

Welcome mate,

Hope to meet up some time, be interested to hear how it compares when you've had the REVO treatment.

Cheers,

Cheers for the replies again.

As for the comparison to the fiat coupe, totally different kettle of fish.

The fiat was tweeked a bit and running about 260bhp. It was a loverly car to drive, and an absolute bullet in a straight line. only problem was you get 'coupe paranoia'. If there's a funny sound anywhere, it;s probably from your car!! haha

The octavia is nice and smooth with it;s power delivery and seems to have a fairly wide power band. Like i said though, not much to compare between the two.

hope that helps

Yeh, hope to meet lots of you guys soon enough...

I'll look to get the car Revo'd fairly soon. Although, as i said earlier in the thread, i was out in a 'remapped' octavia the other day and there didn;t seem much in it. So either that car was running funny, or knowing my luck... mine's been remapped already and the previous owner didn;t know.!!

I was suprised at how quick it was for a big car... I supppose a RR session will see where we're sitting for now!

Greg
