mini fans discuss 5th gear: mini vs vRS.

Featured Replies

I used to drive my cousins old mini and that used to feel like you were flying along. Had many a laugh in that car including when we lost the exhaust along a particularly bumpy road in the middle of nowhere one night

SWMBO had a 'proper' mini. Had all of about 60BHP, and it was still an absolute hoot to drive. Fantastic cars.

So like all cars really then?!

Chris

Mondeo drivers are tools too, infact all drivers except me are tools

Mini2 fits into that group of cars that I wouldn't be seen dead in;

Mini2,

Beetle (new or old),

VW Camper,

Eos,

Astra,

ANY Jaguar

Most of the girls I have seen in Mini's look pretty sexy I must say.

:iagree:

MINI drivers and CLio drivers tend to be the best lookers.

Mine you I saw a nice one in a Smart today - from my vantage point in a 7.5 tonne truck ;)

Glass roof was it, sir? (suits you, etc).

Rob.

I think it's true that some people on that Mini forum are a little closed-minded, a little obnoxious and a little bit daft.

Having read this thread, the general consensus is that a Mini is a reasonable car, if you like that sort of thing. Some people are saying they don't like that sort of thing, which is fine.

On the other forum, people are actively slating the Fabia and being abusive about it, which is a bit harsh really. It's a great little car, if you like that sort of thing. And people on here do. And some Mini owners don't. Which is also fine.

They like their thing, we like ours, neither are right or wrong. As people have already said here, it's horses for courses.

Of course, the above doesn't change the fact that I wouldn't want to own a Mini for fear of breaking the trim by breathing inside the car. The one I've had experience of had worse build quality than a pug for goodness sake! :D (but that might have been a bad example) ;)

No, you just drove a girls car :P

I know a few guys (myself included) that make a point of checking out the driver of a New Mini, most of the time it's some hot-looking lass that probably works in PR or similar.

lass that probably works in PR or similar.

And that's a good thing?

Which is a step up from an OAP's car

Chris

And that's a good thing?

As opposed to a lass that sits on her *** all day watching Jeremy Kyle? I'd say yes.

**edit**

Apologies to anyone who is at home during the day and doesn't scrounge from the state lmao

Well yes, from that, but most PR types seem a little, well.... vacuous to me.

From my new office I have a view of a petrol station - just seen a VERY nice lady in a Fiat Punto.

And another has just arrived for air and a vac in a Pug 106.
