Standalone Haldex Controllers

Featured Replies

VWvortex Forums: Standalone Haldex controllers have landed!

I did a search and couldnt find any threads with this info, so i thought this might be interesting to a couple of you. I guess a 480bhp Octy 4x4 could use one of these.

If this has been posted, please let me know to delete the thread.

The haldex is a fantastically clever bit of kit and with the HPP performance unit is more performance biased. The unit in the link above stops the haldex working as it's designed to. I won't be getting one.

The unit in my link is also designed to work with SEM, so its almost for single-purpose vehicles. But the HPP unit doesnt allow you to manually set the ammount of torque transfered, so this gives you more freedom on how the car will actually handle. Only drawback is that a SEM is mandatory :(

Standalone Engine Management

Ah right, I definitely won't be fitting one then.

There is also an uprated Haldex controller (the 'real thing') which can be set to 3 settings according to a display which had it fitted at APS when I was there last week.

Must admit if I were able to upgrade such an integral part I'd probably go for the real thing, doubt it will end up being too much more money :)

The uprated unit I have is made by Haldex and I'm very happy with it.
