As above

seen a jack with axel stands in argos for

I bought the RAC one, is it that set ?????

Woolworths do the same RAC set for £20 now.

I like these axle stands. The curved head is ideal for VAG cars as they sit nicely under the front wishbone. They are also rock solid and easy to use.

If you intend to do more than occasional use then get yourself a decnt jack. I have one like this -

3 Tonne Trolley Jack - Screwfix Direct, Everything for the Trade, Next Day!

You may find them cheaper shopping around.

I got a pair of 2 ton stands and a fairly small but functional 3 ton jack for less than £20. Worked out about a fiver for the stands and a tenner for the jack from memory. Was from makro though, which isn't the best quality and accessable by all. Good value for the occasional user (my stands are still in the box :D)

Like the look of those ones:thumbup:

Will be passing near to a machine mart on friday so may go and get some then

I've found them to be really sturdy. They also look and feel solid as the sliding head is cast.

Make sure you get a low slung jack - the standard Halfords one isnt low enough to get to the sub-frame lift point at the front of an Octavia at VRS ride height.

:iagree:

either get a low jack to go under or get some nice big block of wood to drive the wheels onto before you jack it up, most jacks wont fit under teh majority of low lying cars like an octy vrs

I use the standard jack to lift the car 3" to accept the trolley jack. Its a lot of hassle.

As TT says the easiest option is a small block of wood.

Low level trolley jacks are V expensive.

I have a sealy low entry high lift jack, goes under a lowered Octy dead easy, can lift 3 wheels off the ground from one jacking point  3 tonne rated. Mine was £85

Can you still buy it for that price - they were all £100 + when I bought mine.

Very nice.

I bought mine 3 - 4 years ago from them for £68 all in inc delivery.
