:) can anyone tell me if i can change my headunit from the standard one but still use the cd multichanger in the boot i was looking at getting a kenwood or something like that

please help

Nope, the oem changer although made by panasonic will only work with the standard hu. Been there and tried it.

yep, agree with mannyo :(

IMO if your going to upgrade it all why keep the standard changer in there? you might as well try and get a 10 disc mp3 changer and go the whole hog with it!!

while we are on the subject. where does the changer control leads run in the octy vrs?

dont mean to hi jack your post!!!!!

Up the left hand side of the car IIRC.

WHen I swapped my stereo I just left the cables in place and added the new ones so it was easier to put back to standard when I sold it

or get yourself an mp3 head unit rip cds burn them on to cdr andhey presto roughly 8 albums per disc

My changer (2002 vRS) has a captive cable, it's hardwired into the changer, so you can't just unplug it and leave the cable behind..

I thought that when I removed mine but if you follow the cable back behind the carpet you should find a connector wrapped up in foam and taped.

That then left me free to install my own changers and tuck the cable away for easy return to standard in future ;) .

Go about a foot along the cable and there is a connector
