if your car beep-beeps when you lock it or you know one that does which of the following does it do when you unlock it?

Two beeps to unlock and one beep to lock.

Had mine turned on by the dealer, standard factory fit alarm.

Same as above, 2 to unlock, 1 to lock

It's an option which, as we have discussed elsewhere in a thread you started, can be enabled by the dealer or with VAG-COM.

Fully selectable. You can have beep on locking with the key and or remote and the same for unlocking. You can also get it to signal if the alarm has been activated while you were away on the Octy II.

Anti Hijack is the feature that locks the doors above 15kmph.

can you turn central locking beep on Fabia VRS?

Yes

yeh i was just trying to decide if i want it to beep when unlocked or not.

if the car is locked via the key in the door does this activate the full alarm system or just lock the car without alarm/interior monitor etc? i.e. if i only wanted it to 'beep-beep' when the full security is activated could this be done?

What car are you referrring to? Perhaps you could update your profile to include that information.

To answer your question WRT the Octy II then AFAIK the full system is enabled no matter which way you lock it.

The options are -

Beep on lock either with key or fob or both

Beep on unlock either with key or fob or both

Beep on unlock to warn of alarm activation

and the same list of choices with flashing the indicators.

If you want to disable the interior monitor then you would use the button inside the car.

apologies i seem to have been misreading this thread. it seems the cars can be set to beep ONCE on lock and TWICE on unlock? should it not be the other way round?! can it be set to whatever configuration i want?

You can get one beep on locking and two on unlocking but they aren't linked ie. you can have one without the other.

Well, using vag com, it wouldnt work on my car, or another VRS i tried :S

Nowt, but it does turn on the courtesy lights on unlock, and turn them off (if on) on lock, along with the indicator flashing bit.

I have it on mine, so it can be done. check Stu's website i think the process is listed on there, either that or the Vag com section of this site http://www.briskoda.net/forums/diagnostics-vag-com/

Perhaps you weren't doing it correctly then?? I can't vouch for every controller on every car and I don't know if yours being a comfort is an issue but it for sure works on every vRS and every other Fabia i've done it on.

Comfort doesn't come with an alarm as standard. stuart_hatch, does your car have an alarm? If not, you cannot have the beeps sadly.

Yep, the chirrups are done by the alarm siren so it'll only work on the Elegance and vRS Fabia's with alarms. I don't think the Mk 1 Octy came with an alarm as standard so you can't make these chirrup without fitting an aftermarket alarm.

Chris

I've also been told that the Octy V4 didn't have a standard alarm. Don't see why you need a "chirper", when you can hear the lock buttons descend, and see the indicators flash.
