Octavia standard features

Featured Replies

Hi all, can anyone tell me if the following are, or should be standard features on an 01 Y reg (registered august 01) Octavia elegance:

Door open warning light

Bulb failure warning light

Brake pad warning light

Also does anyone else notice when switching off engine, all the door locks click as though locking or unlocking but they're not actually doing anything!

I have a 2001 Elegance and:

- brake pad warning light - not sure

- door open warning light - not seen it if it has one

- bulb failure warning light - well it did not know i had a broken brake light

2002 4x4 elegance has brake pad light, door open light, but not heard clicking from doors? No bulbs gone yet so not sure about bulb failure but most modern cars have them.

My 2001(51 plate) TDi Elegance has:

Door open warning light - YES

Brake Pad warning light - YES

Bulb failure light - don't think so, but i haven't has a bulb go yet!

As for the c/locking i can definatly say there is no click.

Do you have the 'anti hijack' feature enabled that locks the doors when you get over a certain speed - may or may not have something to do with it!

Hope this helps!

2003 TDi Elegance had:

- Door open

- Brake pad

- Never seen bulb failure warning and don't think it exists since I have lost a bulb and not been warned.

2001 (51 reg) Elegance has

Door open warning light

Brake Pad warning light

No bulb warning light

And no clicking from the doors

52 reg (PDI 25/8/1, registered 1/9) and as others.

Thanks everybody for the response.

Will have to do some checking to see why door open and audible temp alarm are not working.

Door open and temp alarms aren't audible on mine. Seat belt alarm only applies to driver's seat, and operates even if you just lean through the still open door and turn the ignition on (say to use the wipers).

Temp alarm isnt audible on mine either.

When the temp falls to a given level (2C ish) the display automatically reverts to temp display (for example, MPG or time) and shows a snow flake.
